Location: Atlanta, GA (Onsite) Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $85,000 – $115,000 per year

Job Overview

ATL Search Group is partnering with a leading food manufacturing company to identify an experienced Food Safety Manager. This position is responsible for leading the company’s Food Safety and Quality Systems, ensuring compliance with all regulatory require ments, and driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing operation. The company manufactures cookie dough, dry pretzel mixes, baked goods, and other products for both Direct-to-Consumer (E-commerce) and Business-to-Business (B2B) markets. The Food Safety Manager will work closely with Production, Operations, Sanitation, and Leadership teams to maintain the highest standards of food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain the company’s Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, FSMA, HACCP, HARPC, OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Oversee prerequisite programs and Critical Control Points (CCPs).
  • Maintain document control and food safety records.
  • Prepare the facility for third-party audits, including AIB, SQF, BRC, and other GFSI-recognized certifications.
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and third-party auditors.
  • Manage the company’s consumer complaint program, including root c ause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Generate quality reports and statistical analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor product quality standards throughout manufacturing operations.
  • Support new product development and product improvement in itiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation programs, wastewater treatment, stormwater prevention, and environmental requirements.
  • Partner with sanitation and chemical providers to maintain food safety standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives us ing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Train and coach employees on food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage quality documentation, records, and reporting systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Microbiology, Biology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar Food Safety or Quality Management role.
  • Strong knowledge of: o FDA regulations o FSMA o HACCP & HARPC o GMPs o Food Safety Management Systems
  • Experience leading food safety audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in bakery, cookie, dough, snack food, or dry mix manufacturing.
  • Experience with AIB, SQF, BRC, or other GF SI-certified audit programs.
  • PCQI Certification.
  • HACCP Certification.
  • Experience with MRP or ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Previous experience managing cross-functional quality teams.

Schedule

  • Full-Time
  • Onsite
  • Monday through Friday
  • Additional hours may be required based on production schedules and business needs.

Compensation
