Document Control & Quality Management Assistant

Location: Atlanta, Georgi a Employment Type: Full-Tim e

Schedule: Monday-Friday (Day Shift), with occasional Saturday s Industry: Food Manufacturing

Position Overview

ATL Search Group is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Document Control & Quality Management Assistant to support quality assurance and document control processes within a food manufacturing environment.

This position is ideal for professionals with e xperience in quality management systems, regulatory compliance, and document control.

The successful candidate will help maintain quality documentation, support food safety programs, conduct inspections, and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsi bilities Document Control

  • Create, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, forms, and quality documentation.
  • Manage document control processes, including revision tracking and document retention.
  • Ensure employees have a ccess to current and approved documentation.
  • Assist in developing documentation that supports operational efficiency.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of quality documents to ensure compliance.

Quality Management

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Participate in internal audits, HACCP reviews, and Food Safety inspections.
  • Conduct in-process inspections within the manufacturing facility.
  • Inspect finished products to ve rify compliance with quality specifications.
  • Perform receiving inspections when required.
  • Verify calibration of quality control equipment, including scales, thermometers, and metal detectors.
  • Verify proper product labeling, coding, and allergen controls.
  • C ollect wastewater samples and review testing results.
  • Assist with additional Quality Assurance activities as assigned.

Training & Compliance

  • Train employees on document control procedures and quality system requirements.
  • Support compliance with GFSI and ap plicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Stay current on changes in food safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve documentation and quality processes.

Qualifications Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business Administration, Quality Management, or a rela ted field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience

  • Experience with document control systems.
  • Experience supporting Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Experience within a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards such as GFSI, BRC, SQF, ISO 9001, or similar is considered an asset.

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • A bility to summarize technical requirements into clear, step-by-step procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using document management software.
  • Strong typing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet dead lines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Working Envi ronment

This position is based in a food manufacturing facility and requires compliance with all company safety and food safety procedures.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working in environments that may include:

  • Manufacturing and warehouse p roduction areas.
  • Temperature variations.
  • Exposure to food allergens.
  • Noise from manufacturing equipment.
  • Wet or slippery floors.
  • Indoor and outdoor work areas when necessary. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.

Physical Requirements Candidates must be able to

  • Lift up to 30 pounds independently.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Climb stairs and ladders.
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Perform inspections throughout the facility, including interior and exterior areas.
