Inventory Analyst

Location: Atlanta, GA Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: First Shift (Occasional weekends and off-shift work as business needs require) Salary: $65,000 – $70,000 per year

Job Overview

ATL Search Group is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Analyst for one of our growing manufacturing clients in the Atlanta area.

This role is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy across Raw Materials (RAW), Work in Progress (WIP), an d Finished Goods (FG), identifying inventory discrepancies, analyzing root causes, and implementing corrective actions to improve inventory control processes. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience in inventory management, and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cycle counts of Finished Goods (FG), Work in Progress (WIP), and Raw Materials (RAW), ensuring all inventory is counted monthly.
  • Investigate inventory variances and identify root caus es.
  • Analyze COGI (Correct Goods Issue) errors and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with Production and Logistics teams to eliminate recurring inventory discrepancies.
  • Verify incoming raw material quantities to determine whether variance s are supplier-related or internal process issues.
  • Assist in planning and executing the annual physical inventory (stocktaking).
  • Analyze inventory variances identified during stocktaking and lead corrective action initiatives.
  • Audit inbound inventory proce sses to ensure procedures are being followed consistently.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent stock shortages and excess inventory while achieving Days on Hand (DOH) inventory targets.
  • Support inventory optimization initiatives and material disposition ac tivities as inventory accuracy improves.
  • Prepare inventory reports and provide recommendations for continuous process improvements.
  • Perform additional inventory analysis and operational support as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience in Inventory Control, Inventory Analysis, Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations, or Manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Mic rosoft Dynamics, or similar.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles, cycle counting, and physical inventory processes.
  • Experience with inventory reconciliation and root cause analysis.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement me thodologies.
  • Experience working with KPIs such as Inventory Accuracy, Inventory Turns, and Days on Hand (DOH).

Schedule

  • First Shift
  • Monday through Friday
  • Occasional weekends and off-shift work may be required based on business needs.

Compensation
